Time Machine
Read a site’s history from the Internet Archive.
The Time Machine reads up to 20 Wayback Machine captures of a page and turns each into a snapshot.
Run one
- Open History and enter a page address.
- Choose how many captures (2 to 20), a cadence (quarter, half-year or year) and optionally a year range.
- Review the plan. It lists the captures and the credit cost. Nothing is charged until you start.
- Start. The job runs in the background and the timeline fills in as captures are read.
Read the result
Captures are saved in a project called “<host> history” as snapshots with the source “archive”. The timeline shows palette and type charts, the difference to the previous capture, and rebrand verdicts where a change is large. Open the compare view on any two points.
Cost and limits
- 1 credit per capture, claimed up front. Captures that could not be read are refunded when the job ends.
- Pro and above.
- Old captures can be missing styles the archive did not keep, so an early capture may show less than the site did.
